This research employs Value-Sensitive Design (VSD) to investigate the user values associated with smartwatch use, with the objective of integrating these values into the design process. The study aims to provide insights that balance technical opportunities with ethical design responsibilities. An empirical investigation was performed collecting data through interviews with smartwatch users, developing a novel smartwatch prototype and organizing iterative feedback sessions. A key finding is that several of the values deemed important by researchers have limited significance for actual users ...en
