This document discusses the goal of productivity improvement for groups and ways to obtain that goal. It adresses the terminology used for this concept and issues related to CATeam (Computer Aided Team). The paper describes the assumptions that determine the outlined framework of research for CATeam that is used to guide the Hohenbeim research programme in Computer Aided Teams (CATeam). The framework is presented as a springboard for discussion rather than a final ending point of CSCW research.
